4 Great Foods That Provide Acid Reflux Relief

Instead of those over-the-counter antacids that actually cause more harm than good, try turning to food for acid reflux relief. While fried and spicy foods may be culprits for contributing to heartburn , there are plenty of other delicious things to eat that can actually help alleviate your symptoms. These are a few of my favorites.

Bone broth

Bone broth supplies amino acids, many minerals and electrolytes, and antioxidants, which is helpful for healing the GI tract. Plus it has the added bonus of providing immune system support and improving joint health. I love this recipe !

Probiotic foods

Probiotic foods include things like kefir, kombucha, live cultured yogurt, and kimchi. They’re all great because they contain a beneficial bacteria that are found within the gut microbiome. These microorganisms are important for digestion (among other things), so when you’re not getting enough, it’s normal to experience symptoms like digestive issues (acid reflux), frequent colds, skin issues, and more.

Ginger

Ginger is a great go-to for assistance with anti-inflammatory issues and GI conditions like heartburn and GERD. Just don’t be overwhelmed by the odd shape of ginger! It can easily be peeled, sliced, or shaved. It adds great flavor to foods and gives smoothies a tasty kick. Personally, I love it in tea.

Oatmeal

As a whole grain, oatmeal is an excellent source of fiber. That allows it to absorb acid in the stomach to provide acid reflux relief. Always reach for old-fashioned rolled oats though. The instant packets are packed with bad-for-you refined sugars, artificial flavors, and chemicals.
