Recipe of the Month: Ginger Tea

Donna Sergi • February 6, 2019

Our theme this month is herbs that heal, and ginger is one of my favorites. So I felt compelled to share this easy ginger tea recipe with you.

Ginger has a very powerful taste, but the many health benefits it offers are incredible. As an immunity booster, ginger is especially beneficial in the winter because it can lessen your chances of getting sick. It’s also great for helping with nausea, menstrual cycle pain, digestion, and much, much more. Give this recipe a shot and let me know what you think!

Ingredients

6 tablespoons of shredded ginger root

6 cups of spring water

Fresh lemon

Honey to taste

Directions

Simmer water, then add shredded ginger and cover. Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes. Once simmered, shut off heat and let sit in pot for 10 minutes. You can strain the liquid if you’d like, but I recommend leaving it as is with the shredded ginger still in it. Pour into a cup, add fresh squeezed lemon and honey to taste. Store the remaining tea in a glass container for future use.
