Improve Holistic Wellness With This DIY Honey Face Mask

With all the running around we do in our day to day lives, it can be hard to find some “me” time. Unfortunately, this can lead to the buildup of stress, which can be both physically and mentally draining. Since the month of August is all about holistic wellness - finding balance between our mind, body and spirit - I wanted to share this easy recipe for a homemade face mask.


People often observe that stress wreaks havoc on their skin. That’s why I went with this calming honey-based mask with three simple ingredients. Raw honey has detoxifying properties that will cleanse your skin without overdrying, while cinnamon reduces inflammation, redness and excess oil. Acid from the lemon will exfoliate your skin and minimize dark spots. While you might not be able to schedule in a trip to the spa, you can get pretty close with the ingredients in your kitchen!


Ingredients


2 tablespoons of pure, raw honey

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

1 wedge of fresh lemon


Directions


Put the honey in a small bowl and warm it in the microwave for a few seconds - be careful not to overheat it. Squeeze the juice from the lemon wedge into the bowl and stir, adding in the cinnamon. Gently apply the mask to a freshly washed face and relax. Rinse off after 15-20 minutes to reveal happier, healthier skin.
